Michael Knetter is the President and CEO of the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association.

He joined the University of Wisconsin Foundation as president and CEO in October of 2010 after eight plus years as dean of the Wisconsin School of Business. Prior to joining the UW-Madison in 2002, he was associate dean of the MBA program and professor of international economics in the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He also served as senior staff economist for the President's Council of Economic Advisors for former presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

A native of Wisconsin, Knetter is a director of American Family Insurance and a trustee of Neuberger Berman Funds. He chairs the Investment Committee of both organizations.

Knetter completed his undergraduate studies in economics and mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and his Ph.D. in economics at Stanford University.
